Oak and pine woods, brushy pasture edges and hunting land around Palestine and Anderson County, cleared with a tracked mulcher that grinds the brush in place. From Lake Palestine to the Trinity River side of the county.
Palestine sits between two rivers. Anderson County slopes east toward the Neches and west toward the Trinity, and nearly half the county is deep, sandy and loamy ground, with stretches of claypan that stay wet longer than they look. The hills around town are the dogwood country Palestine is known for, the same woods that have drawn people to the Dogwood Trails since 1938.
The woods here are a real mix: red, post and white oak, hickory, elm, pecan, walnut and pine, and on the drier pasture edges post oak, blackjack and cedar. A lot of Anderson County is pasture and hay ground with a hardwood edge that keeps creeping in, plus hunting and homestead acreage out toward Elkhart, Frankston, Tennessee Colony and Montalba. Those edges and those tracts are most of what we clear around Palestine.
Red, post and white oak, hickory, elm, pecan and pine in the woods. Post oak, blackjack and cedar on the pasture edges.
Deep sand drains and mulches well. Claypan ground and creek bottoms toward the rivers stay wet after rain.
Cattle and hay operations pushing brush back off pasture, hunting land owners, and homestead buyers on wooded acreage.
Work across Anderson County: Palestine, Elkhart, Frankston, Tennessee Colony, Montalba and Cayuga.

Brush, cedar and saplings that crept in off the tree line ground down, giving the grass back its room.

Fence line clearingThese are Grigsby’s own photos and phone video from recent jobs, not stock photos. The oak, pine and brush in them is the same growth we clear around Palestine.

Inside Palestine city limits, the zoning code’s landscaping rules say indiscriminate clearing or stripping of natural vegetation on a lot is not allowed, owners are expected to make a good faith effort to keep existing trees, and site plans show trees 8.5 inches and larger. If you are developing a lot in town, plan the clearing with that in mind.
Lake Palestine is owned by the Upper Neches River Municipal Water Authority, which issues its own building permits for lakefront work, so check with the authority before clearing near the shoreline.
Rural Anderson County land outside the city generally needs no clearing permit unless it is in a floodplain. We flag what applies to your property when we quote.
Underbrush cleared under standing pines, the canopy left in place.
We quote every property on its own. Around Palestine, these make the biggest difference.
A thin pasture edge goes quickly. A hardwood thicket with cedar and vines takes real machine time.
Claypan ground and creek bottoms toward the Trinity and Neches hold water. We wait for them to dry.
Good oaks, pecans and pines worth keeping are worked around carefully, which takes longer than clearing everything.
A wide gate and a dry road in keeps it simple. Soft lanes and tight gates add time.

It depends on how thick the brush is, the size of the trees, how wet the ground is and the access. We quote each Palestine property individually. Text photos and a pin to (903) 952-9217 for a straight estimate.
Yes. Brush, cedar and saplings creeping in off the tree line are mulched in place, so the grass has room to come back and there is nothing to pile and burn.
Yes. Flag the trees you want, and we clear around them without a blade near the trunks.
Inside city limits, Palestine's zoning code does not allow indiscriminate clearing of natural vegetation on a lot and expects owners to keep existing trees where they can. Rural Anderson County land generally needs no clearing permit unless it is in a floodplain.
Often, but Lake Palestine is owned by the Upper Neches River Municipal Water Authority, which permits lakefront work. Check with the authority first, and tell us it is a lake lot when you call so we can plan access.
It gets mulched in place. There are no burn piles and nothing hauled off, and the mulch keeps sandy ground from washing.
A pasture edge or a few lanes can be a day. A larger tract takes longer. We give you a day count with the estimate.
Usually. Send a few photos of the thickest areas, the gate or road in, and a map pin. If we need to walk it, we will say so.
